Michael Nordman, a veteran political fundraiser, is the Director of Development for the state’s oldest and largest LGBT advocacy organization.
In his role Michael is in charge of fundraising, organizing events including the annual Justice for All Gala, which is the Midwest’s largest LGBT fundraising party, and identifying new sources of support for the growing mission of EQIL.
“As we gear up for the battle for marriage equality, continue our anti-bullying initiatives and seek fairness and equal treatment in our society for LGBT individuals and their families, we are excited to welcome Michael to our team,” said Bernard Cherkasov, EQIL CEO. Michael’s fundraising expertise will help our voices be heard throughout Illinois on these important issues.
In his previous positions, Michael, a native of Little Rock, Ark., has raised a total of $3.5 million for political campaigns in Chicago, the suburbs, downstate Illinois and Kentucky. He also has fundraising and marketing experience in Washington, DC.
Michael joins a professional team of advocates at Equality Illinois with specialties in lobbying, community outreach, finance, administration and media, all with the focus of advancing LGBT equality.
